Navrhli jsme dům, který odpovídal místu. Našli jsme investora, který koupil lom a my jsme následně pracovali na změně územního plánu. To vše zdarma – celou dobu jsme doufali, že naše úsilí se promění v reálnou fungující budovu. Dům je z konstrukčního hlediska kombinací monolitické konstrukce a vápenopískového zdiva, které bylo použito ve vyšších patrech. Velká pozornost pak byla věnována akustice. Jedná se o návrh s optimálním rozložením bytů, orientací na jih a s důrazem na soukromí obyvatel každého bytu. Velkou výzvou bylo nejen ideální využití prostoru, ale také odstínění tramvajové a automobilové dopravy.
We designed a house that suited the location. We found an investor who bought the quarry and we then worked on changing the zoning plan. All this for free – all the time we hoped that our efforts would turn into a real functioning building. From a structural point of view, the house is a combination of monolithic construction and sand-lime masonry, which was used on the upper floors. Great attention was paid to acoustics. This is a design with an optimal layout of the apartments, oriented to the south and with an emphasis on the privacy of the residents of each apartment. The great challenge was not only the ideal use of space, but also shielding from tram and car traffic.
